General about search
Some of the offerings in the Image Store are grouped into galleries. You can find the Gallery directory behind the navigation button. The navigation path on the left helps you move between galleries, and by clicking on the main image, you can see the image groups that belong to them.
However, often a suitable image can be found using a free-text search. The main page has a search field where you can enter search terms. The search is started by pressing the Enter key on the keyboard or by clicking on the actual search button, i.e. the magnifying glass icon.
On almost every page, you will see a search field under the logo. You can perform searches by entering search terms in the field and clicking the search button.
Search hits are listed as preview images. If there are many results, you can see all the results by scrolling down the page. You can also choose how the search results view looks (preview images or images + more detailed information) using the grid buttons:
How search filters work
You can filter your search results by clicking the search filter icon next to the search field. This will open the search filter panel.
Select the filter you want and click the Filter button at the bottom. The filters work as described below.
Sort order: Sorts search results by relevance or time of capture.
Type: Filters search results by type of item. You can select multiple image types.
Capture date: Filters search results by image date. You can use shortcuts (today, yesterday, this year) or enter just the year, or year and month, or year, month and date. Please note that sometimes dates are not available, especially in our older footage, so filtering will not work on them.
City: Filters search results by where the image was taken. You can use shortcuts or type the name of the location in the field.
Country: Filters search results from a specific country.
Photographer: Filters search results for images taken by a specific photographer.
Category: Filters search results for images belonging to the selected category. Please note that many of our images do not have a category marked, in which case filtering will not work for them.
Model released: Filters images that are model-free, meaning the model has permission to use the image commercially. If in doubt, please check the usage rights with our picture sales team.
Property released: Filters images that can be used for commercial use. If in doubt, please check the usage rights with our picture sales team.
Social media usage: Filters images that can be used on social media. If in doubt, please check the usage rights with our picture sales team.
Viewing images and shopping cart
You can view a larger preview image by clicking on it in the search results view or from the Open preview button:
